I have been having abysmal results searching for needles lately. Am I the only one? It's got so bad that manufacturing is actually a better option... For real... I'm going to tally my results right now and post them below... Others please share, I wanna see if this is me, or what? And see how bad it REALLY is... Last 200 (recorded) searches: 14 syringes, 19 DNA extractors, 21 GPS units. I record almost all my NT building searches... That's a 7% find rate... Sure, Manfacturing is a tad better, but less reliable when you NEED a couple fast... I can easily blow 30-40 AP and get only one needle, it's been that bloody awful. Others' experiences? If you don't, start keeping a tally... post it here. No, Wan is not imagining this stuff up. My survivor alt has had pretty crappy luck when it comes to syringe finding. Lately, he is lucky to find 4 syringes in a 40+AP session. If he's unlucky, he'll only find 2. I seem to remember from last year, that syringes were much more plentiful. And no, I'm not talking about when the Dead were rampaging across Malton. The rates then were just ridiculously skewed in favor of survivors. There was a time when if you were lucky you could easily get 10+ syringes during a 50AP session. Diet Guru of Dowdney

Hubby and I have both had sucky luck finding syringes. Don't have numbers, but we walk away form the computer talking about how absurdly bad our find rates are. Proud Supporter of the Malton Zombie Recycling ProgramViolet Begonia - 10 minutes from hellugga ugga

No, you're not imagining things. The search rates are terrible, and have been for some time. I've been looking in powered NTs, and if I'm really really lucky, I'll find 4 in a day. 2 or 3 is more likely. About two weeks ago I manufactured several syringes, the rates were so bad.
I've learned to absolutely despise DNA extractors. I'll find three of them in a row, and not a single syringe. I'll start keeping tally tomorrow.

yeah i have heard this from others... and it has been going on a for a while, too, at least a month, maybe more. pre-Dead I'd say find rates were about 1 in 10, perhaps better... last March they went through roof, of course... now, it really is about 1 in 15 ... maybe! thanks for keeping a tally, too, everyone.... i wanna see what the situation REALLY is... i will report in again when i have searched a few more times, myself. :) //edit BTW snakeingrass... i *am* searching in powered NTS... :( It's a crudely-printed propaganda rag, encouraging survivors to surrender to the hordes and reclaim Malton, to exist without material needs rather than scavenging to survive.

well, snakeingrass, if you and your men want to keep tallies and you can post them here, that'd be great. i would like to get a good sample, just to see what's up. though, 200 searches, that's pretty good in and of itself... but more is always better. Not great search percentages for me, but not overly bad, either. I'm feeling much more angst that my zombie can't seem to shred barricades anymore. The last 2 days, the lil' fella has, with full AP, failed to take out VS+2 barricades, and QS+2 barricades. That's just not right - my zombie has to eat, too!

my zombie was doing lousy, too. but now he's doing just fine. barricades are weird things... with only 1/4 chance to hit, it can get very streaky. but i have noticed something else odd about the RNG as a zombie: attacking has often been very streaky. i mean, i will miss and miss and miss ... then hit and hit and and hit. in clumps. far, far less distribution than one would expect from randomness, it's tres weird. others have said the same thing. Yeah, syringe rates have been down for a while now. I don;t keep track, but its bad enough that I also turned to manufacture, just to avoid the annoyance of button mashing / trash dumping. I know the DEM has a thread on this... (checking) ... yep, they report 7.2% for needles in lit buildings. That's with 961 AP spent by 10 or so players, so I'd say its well outside the realm of a fluke. BTW, they report 6.4% in unlit buildings (over 300 searches) - generators hardly seem worth the effort for searching, though they do enable necronet use and syringe manufacture. I wouldn't say zombie attack are streakier than statistics would predict. 50% to ht is streaky to start with, and then you add the effect of tangling grasp... Perhaps I should start keeping written stats on this, but so far on my joke account GPS Unit, I've been finding more syringes than GPS Units by about a rough 2:1 margin.
Luck? Necessity maybe?

cheese, it seems to have got a little better in the last week or so... let's see if it holds out. It's a crudely-printed propaganda rag, encouraging survivors to surrender to the hordes and reclaim Malton, to exist without material needs rather than scavenging to survive.

I've also had absolutely horrible luck with syringes lately. I find one or two syringes at most, sometimes zero with 50 AP. I have also resorted to manufacturing them for the time being, and as annoying as it is, it's better than getting next to nothing.
Man, I haven't visited this forum in a long time. :p

I got 4 in 18ap today. But I think it's a huge fluke.
